Updates for August 2017

August: Easter Sunday is April 16, 2017, so in 2017 most Easter egg hunts will be held on Saturday April 8, 2017 and some on Saturday April 15, 2017. ALWAYS click the links to check date and time with the event's own website, as there are often last minute changes due to weather or logistical problems, just click on the link to the event's website and (in most cases), you want to click on the "events" link or "calendar" link on their website. Or use their site search for "Easter". Do let them know you found them here, so they will update us next year.  Since many egg hunts do not publish the current year's dates until the very last minute, we may not get their current information, which is why we have links to their websites, facebook pages and calendars. See their events calendar. There are also Easter breakfasts and brunches and Easter parades to watch!

And if you are looking for local children's consignment sales, also often held by churches, click here!

Why a Beauty Pageant you ask?? These Pageants not only help children with self- esteem, but also help with self-confidence, communication skills, leadership skills and interview skills for the future. Also by entering these pageants they will meet many new people and build new and lasting friendships. Pageants also open doors to their future such as modeling, acting, performing arts and also help to get children actively involved in their community. Alexis is 12 years old. She has been diagnosed with dyslexia and MERLD. She has struggled in school, but she always puts her best foot forward and does the best she can.  Being in these pageants has given her the confidence that she can do whatever she puts her heart into. It has helped her to express herself and make new friends. She has been entering these pageants since she was 8 years old. Jayden is 3 years old. He has had a speech problem since being able to talk. We could barely get him to say 2 words. He tries really hard now, but really expresses himself while on stage. If you put a guitar in his hand while he is on stage, he starts singing. He doesn’t care if you understand him or not. He has the confidence to express himself anyway he can. If you are interested in attending please let us know, we can not wait and hope to see you all there!! (ADDED: March 18, 2016, Suggested by a visitor)
